Fuengirola elections

May 13, 2011 at 10:54 (fuengirola) (, , , )

We have our local elections coming up soon and in the run-up, the Town Hall has increased in social media presence by creating twitter and facebook accounts.

Now if like me you are happy with the current party in Fuengirola, make sure to vote for the PP and support our Mayoress ESPERANZA OÑA.

Not saying she’s perfect (which politician is?), but I think she is doing a good job for this town, and the PSOE (socialists) seem to be a bunch of (insert explicative). You only have to watch the debates on the Fuengirola TV to see the sort of calibre of people they are.

Any support the PP and let’s see Fuengirola Advanza!

High Spain

June 19, 2010 at 21:18 (fuengirola) (, , , , )

Been exploring the town a bit today and I’ve made the best discovery ever! A pot store. Right in the middle of town! Not hidden in the back streets, not claiming to sell the seeds as collector’s items, but a full blow pot store with seeds, compost, fertilizers, lamps, etc… Unbelievable! It is perfectly legal to grown your own marijuana in Spain. As long as its for personal consumption only.

October 21, 2009 at 20:18 (fuengirola) (, , , , , )

It rained again last night. This is the second time it has rained here in Fuengirola since the beginning of September. It’s been a fantastic post summer so far with warm (but cooling) evenings.

Located only 25 kilometres from the Malaga airport, Fuengirola is one of the main destinations for tourist from Spain and abroad when visiting the Costa del Sol. Being very accessible by road and railway combined with 8 kilometres of beaches has made Fuengirola a cosmopolitan town that has only grown from strength to strength.

Castillo Sohail in Fuengirola

September 19, 2009 at 19:53 (fuengirola) (, , , , , )

For the first time today I went to visit the castle in Fuengirola, locally called Castillo Sohail. I was quite impressed. It’s got the definite feeling of a fort. Not like those namby pamby palaces and castles you find in England and France. But an actual, no holds bar fort! Man the walls and take on all on comers!

Fuengirola Blog design change

September 18, 2009 at 14:19 (fuengirola, Web) (, , , , )

With all the recent activity my Fuengirola blog has been getting, i thought a design change was need. Having to come onto this blog so often has made me realise how horrible the colour scheme was. Why no-one send anything I don’t know.

So I have gone for this pretty design by http://beccary.com/.
If you don’t like it complain to them or keep on moaning and I might change it again.

Fuengirola Troll?

September 18, 2009 at 11:04 (fuengirola, Web) (, , , , , , )

In a recent article about shit websites, a comment was made where one of posters thought I was being ‘trolly’. Now don’t get me wrong I was enjoying the lively debate and I want it to continue, but does that really make me a troll?

The rain in Spain is just not the same

September 15, 2009 at 14:06 (fuengirola) (, , , )

For days now if not weeks I’ve been hearing on the news that it was going to start pissing down with rain here on the Costa del Sol. The news has been going through all the <insert colour> alerts. Its still bloody boiling though and no rain in site! We’ll to tell a lie, it did rain a few days ago, or better said it did drizzle the other night for all of 10 minutes. I stood outside on my terrace the whole time and managed to get about 15 drops of water on me.

Britons Return to Malaga

August 28, 2009 at 09:48 (fuengirola, News) (, , , , )

BRITONS are now returning to the Costa del Sol after numbers fell dramatically in the first quarter of 2009, a study has revealed.

Figures from AENA Spanish airports confirmed that 15.6 per cent fewer British passengers arrived at Malaga during the first three months of this year compared to the same period of 2008.

However, a revival since then has seen the drop cut to 9.5 per cent for the half year.

Overall, 1,068,000 Britons flew to Malaga between January and the end of June.

Meanwhile, German numbers also recovered from a 20.59 per cent first quarter drop to a half year reduction of 9.9 per cent.

British and German passengers have accounted for 70 per cent of all arrivals so far this year.
