Fuengirola Blog design change

September 18, 2009 at 14:19 (fuengirola, Web) (, , , , )

With all the recent activity my Fuengirola blog has been getting, i thought a design change was need. Having to come onto this blog so often has made me realise how horrible the colour scheme was. Why no-one send anything I don’t know.

So I have gone for this pretty design by http://beccary.com/.
If you don’t like it complain to them or keep on moaning and I might change it again.

Fuengirola Troll?

September 18, 2009 at 11:04 (fuengirola, Web) (, , , , , , )

In a recent article about shit websites, a comment was made where one of posters thought I was being ‘trolly’. Now don’t get me wrong I was enjoying the lively debate and I want it to continue, but does that really make me a troll?

Enjoy the beach

August 20, 2009 at 19:39 (fuengirola) (, , , , )

There used to be a time when I thought myself odd not to enjoy the beach in summertime. Everybody else did, and those who claimed not to, I realised, had the kind of bodies swimsuits were not designed for. Although I now fit into this category, it is with no sense of shame that I occasionally parade my withering body along the sand. It is the boredom of lying practically naked on a towel and allowing my skin to be toasted by the sun that curtails my enjoyment of the beach.

Carspotter

August 6, 2009 at 20:47 (Web) (, , , , , )

I’ve just seen an advert for, what seems to me, the most idiotic of services offered on television. Called carspotter, you can text/sms the registration to a specific number and get a text message back with, according to the website, “…the make and model plus colour, year of manufacture, month of registration, number of previous owners, the car’s price new and an estimate of its current price”. Followed by a second text with further information.

It’s not that I can’t see the benefits of getting these details, but I can’t see the legal market. If you’re a car nut, you probably spot the mistakes in the messages received and if you looking at buying it, the person on-hand or the website would state the information. And who walks down the street, sees a car and thinks to themselves, “I wonder what that car’s worth?”

Looking for Group

August 6, 2009 at 18:43 (Web) (, , , , )

For those of you that Webcomics and such then I would differently recommend Looking for Group. It’s a fantasy based comic in keeping with Warcraft, World of Warcracft for those of you who have only played the online game and not the classic strategy game.

Anyway, the story line is entertaining, involving (mainly) an elf and his quest, with a range of ‘sidekicks’ including a funny undead warlock. Err… funny as in what he does in the strip, not an undead warlock telling jokes (although everyone now and again). I must admit the writers are a witty bunch and deserve full credit for maintaining the humour and keeping the storyline going.

Old age hypocrisy

August 5, 2009 at 15:20 (Web) (, , , , , )

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL MY FRIENDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE 1940’s, 50’s, 60’s and early 70’s !
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us and lived in houses made of asbestos.. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese, raw egg products, loads of bacon and processed meat, tuna from a can, and didn’t get tested for diabetes or cervical cancer.
Then after that trauma, our baby cots were covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets or shoes, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.

Hello world wide web!

August 5, 2009 at 09:17 (fuengirola) (, , , , , )

Just recently made the BIG MOVE abroad from London to the sunny Costa del Sol. More specifically a town called Fuengirola. Been here before on holiday and I thought now was the time to make the move.
Anyway got me a nice little property at a good rent, not too easy to find at this time of year, with the holiday crowd around. Quite surprised really, with all the Doom and Gloom in the papers I would of thought finding a rental would be easy. Fuck me was I wrong. Everything seems to be rented out, but I found a nice little agency on the seafront that managed to find me a good property at 550€ a month (about 450 sterling) for a nice 5 year contract.
